- The micro manager doesn’t accept under any circumstances that its employees make decisions without consulting him.
- All the time, he is telling the workers how to do things, from the most elementary to the most complicated. It is a cycle that never ends.
- He delegates small tasks. He doesn‘t trust in his employees.
- He keeps the personnel cornered and is not given a frame of reference that allows them to carry out their tasks with peace of mind.
- The micro manager estimates that everyone else is incapable and is always sanctioning the workers.
- He ends up doing the work of his employees and also the work of himself, reason why his state of mind reaches tension’s levels.
- As can be seen, the micro manager forgets that his job is to solve major problems and planning activities.
On the other hand, a leader should be and do:
- Owning the company or undertaking that management forces to surround itself with people in whom it must be trusted.
- You should develop strong relationships with your workers, with your customers, with suppliers.
- The manager should delegate and trust the capabilities of his workers.
- Set goals and let your employees decide the procedure to follow, as long as it is legal and doesn’t affect other people.
- Reward creativity and motivate your workers.
- Let your workers take responsibility for taking on the projects you determine or plan. This will result (in employees) identified with the company and with a high degree of loyalty.
